Introduction

Background

The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of North Sumatra plays a vital role in collecting taxes and ensuring the smooth flow of goods and services in the region. However, there are often problems among service users who do not understand the duties and functions of Customs and Excise. This lack of understanding can hinder the optimization of the expected services and lead to dissatisfaction among service users. Therefore, it is essential to provide excellent service that meets the needs and expectations of service users.

Methodology

Our research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining both primary and secondary data sources. Primary data were collected through interviews and questionnaires distributed online through Google Forms, while secondary data were obtained from books and other written sources. This approach allowed us to gather a comprehensive understanding of the perception of service users towards the services provided by the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.

Results

The results of our analysis showed that most service users were satisfied with the application of excellent service in the agency. This is expected to reduce the level of confusion and increase satisfaction with the services provided.

Recommendations

Based on the results of our study, we recommend that the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of North Sumatra continue to improve the quality of services and strengthen the socialization of their duties and functions. This will help service users feel more satisfied, while supporting the creation of a harmonious relationship between agencies and the community. The application of excellent service is not just an obligation, but is a long-term investment in building the positive image of agencies in the eyes of the community.
