Introduction

The Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method is a widely used tool in measuring customer satisfaction and analyzing the performance of an organization or business entity. This study aims to examine the level of satisfaction of BPJS Health users to services provided by health facilities in Lubuk Pakam, North Sumatra, using the IPA method. The main objective of this study is to find out whether the level of satisfaction of BPJS Health users is in line with expectations and to identify areas that need to be improved so that services are more optimal.

Background

BPJS Health is a government-run health insurance program in Indonesia that provides comprehensive health coverage to its members. The program has been implemented in various regions, including North Sumatra, where Lubuk Pakam is located. Despite the efforts of the government to improve the quality of healthcare services, there are still concerns about the level of satisfaction of BPJS Health users. This study aims to address this concern by examining the level of satisfaction of BPJS Health users to services provided by health facilities in Lubuk Pakam.

Methodology

This study was conducted by distributing 70 questionnaires to BPJS Health users in various health facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies in Lubuk Pakam. The questionnaires were designed to measure the level of satisfaction of BPJS Health users to services provided by health facilities, including the availability of reliable medical personnel, inpatient rooms, health facility officers, and the ability of officers to serve consumer demand and needs.

Results

The analysis showed a consumer satisfaction score of 3.35, indicating that in general BPJS Health users felt quite satisfied with the services provided. However, consumer expectations (expected service) are higher than the service score received (perceived service). This indicates that the services provided by health facilities in Lubuk Pakam are not yet entirely ideal and satisfying BPJS Health users.

The results of this study suggest that there are several areas that need to be improved to increase the level of satisfaction of BPJS Health users. These areas include:

This study provides concrete recommendations for health facilities in Lubuk Pakam to improve service quality and achieve maximum satisfaction for BPJS Health users. With a focus on the four important aspects mentioned, it is hoped that the satisfaction of BPJS Health users can increase significantly. Increase the capacity of inpatient rooms: Health facilities in Lubuk Pakam should increase the capacity of inpatient rooms for BPJS Health users to guarantee the availability of comfortable and adequate inpatient rooms to meet the needs of patients.
Ensure equality of services: Health facilities in Lubuk Pakam should ensure equality of services without discriminating BPJS Health users. Officers must be professional and provide fair services to all patients.
Improve the ability of officers to serve consumer demand and needs: Health facilities in Lubuk Pakam should improve the ability of officers to understand and meet the needs of patients. This can be done with training and coaching that focuses on increasing knowledge and expertise.

Limitations

This study has several limitations. Firstly, the sample size is relatively small, which may not be representative of the entire population of BPJS Health users in Lubuk Pakam. Secondly, the study only examines the level of satisfaction of BPJS Health users to services provided by health facilities in Lubuk Pakam and does not consider other factors that may influence customer satisfaction.
