The Influence of Sociodemographic Factors, Socioeconomics, and Needs on Community Behavior in the Search for Treatment in Medan City District in 2013

Introduction

The implementation of health services is a crucial effort to achieve the highest degree of public health. However, the current health service program has not fully accommodated sociodemographic factors, socioeconomics, and community needs. In Medan Kota District, there are various health service facilities, so research needs to be carried out to understand the search behavior of community treatment in this region. This study aims to reveal the effect of sociodemographic factors, socioeconomics, and community needs on treatment of treatment in Medan City in 2013.

Methodology

This study involved 138 households as samples, by collecting data using questionnaires and statistical analysis using double logistics regression tests with levels Significance α = 5%. The data was collected from the community in Medan Kota District, and the analysis was conducted to identify the factors that influence the behavior of medical search in this region.

Results

The results showed that sociodemographic factors (age, gender, education, knowledge, and attitudes), socioeconomic factors (work and income), and the community's needs factors significantly affect the behavior of medical search in Medan City District. Among these factors, the need factor is the most dominant factor that affects the treatment of treatment, with a significance value of 0,000 and logistics regression value of 8,564.
