In today's increasingly competitive world, entrepreneurial interest among students is becoming increasingly important to note. The ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities is a crucial skill for individuals to succeed in their careers and contribute to the growth of their communities. This study aims to identify and analyze the effect of self-efficacy and entrepreneurial motivation on entrepreneurial interest among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra.

The Importance of Entrepreneurial Interest in Students

Entrepreneurial interest among students is a critical factor in determining their future career paths and contributions to society. Students who are interested in entrepreneurship are more likely to develop the skills and knowledge needed to start and run their own businesses, which can lead to job creation, economic growth, and innovation. Research Methodology

This study employed a quantitative research approach to collect and analyze data from a sample of 164 students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra. The data were collected through a combination of observation, questionnaires, and documentation studies. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the data, and the results were obtained using SPSS software.

Main Findings

The results of this study showed that self-efficacy and entrepreneurial motivation had a positive and significant influence on student entrepreneurial interest. The R² value obtained was 0.559, which means that 55.9% of entrepreneurial interest can be explained by the self-efficacy variable and entrepreneurial motivation. This suggests that students who have a high level of self-efficacy and are motivated to be entrepreneurs are more likely to have a strong interest in entrepreneurship.
