Introduction

In today's digital age, the amount of digital information created is increasing exponentially. Students of the Library Science Study Program at the USU Faculty of Cultural Sciences are no exception, producing a vast array of digital content such as papers, reports, documents, presentations, and articles related to their lecture material. However, with the growing amount of digital information, important questions arise about their awareness, responsibility, and habit in managing the digital archive. This study aims to explore the habits and practices of digital archiving among active students in 2014, with a focus on the way they organize and store the lecture material that has been produced.

Methodology

The method used in this study is a descriptive method, by conducting interviews with six students who actively manage digital archives on their laptops. The interview results show that students have managed digital files related to lecture material, although there are various approaches and strategies used. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state of digital archive management practices among students and identify areas for improvement.

The practice of digital archive management by students generally involves organizing files into the folder specified based on the criteria of the type of document and interests. For example, important documents such as the final project or papers that have high grades are stored in a special folder, while documents that are considered less important tend not to get the same attention.
