Introduction

In 2019, the Bonandolok I Puskesmas in Humbang Hasundutan Regency embarked on a crucial initiative to improve public health through the implementation of the Community-Based Total Sanitation Program (STBM) with a focus on the BABS defecation stop (BABS). This program aimed to provide decent sanitation facilities and encourage clean living behavior among the community. However, the achievement of this program was only 50% with 42.38% of families using healthy latrines. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Stop Babs program through a system approach that includes input and process.

Meanwhile, the village coverage that implements STBM has only reached 20%, and there is no significant progress for public places and food processing places that meet health requirements.

The success of this program is very dependent on the level of community participation in the implementation process.
