Unfortunately, the current image of the Karo Regency Government has not been fully positive, reflected in the many negative reports about the Karo Regency Government and the Karo Regent in the media.

To overcome this, the Karo Regency Government implemented an effective public relations strategy. This study discusses the public relations strategy used by the Karo Regency Government in maintaining a positive image. The purpose of this study was to reveal and describe the public relations strategy implemented by the Public Relations of the Karo Regency Government in building a positive image.

Theoretical Background

This study refers to four theories: image theory to understand the image of the Karo Regency Government, Public Relations theory, Public Relations theory in government to understand the role of public relations in the Karo Regency Government and its relation to image, as well as public relations strategy theory to understand the public relations strategy applied.

Image theory is a concept that explains how individuals and organizations perceive and interpret information about themselves and others. Public Relations theory explains the role of public relations in shaping public opinion and building relationships between organizations and their stakeholders. Public Relations theory in government highlights the importance of public relations in government institutions, such as the Karo Regency Government, in building trust and credibility with the public. Public relations strategy theory provides a framework for understanding the strategies and tactics used by public relations practitioners to achieve their goals.

Methodology

This study uses a descriptive approach and qualitative methods in presenting data. Data was collected through interviews with public relations and Karo Regency Government officials and observations.
