Introduction

The methodology used is an analytic descriptive with a qualitative sociological juridical approach. Drawing conclusions carried out with an inductive approach to gain a deep understanding of the ownership status of property in this context.

The Results of the Study

The results showed that the ownership status of property given by parents to children, both in the form of movable or immovable goods, during life does not need to be categorized as inheritance. Conversely, the assets given should be seen as a private property that does not need to be returned to the inheritance boedel. Thus, the recognition of the status of this property rights is important so that there is no confusion between the heirs after the parents die.

In addition to providing an understanding of the ownership status of property, this study also highlights the importance of understanding the implications of giving property to children during their lives. By giving property to children during their lives, parents not only provide material, but also teach family values that should be capital for the next generation to respect each other and maintain good relations.
