Introduction

The provision of quality healthcare services is a critical aspect of any healthcare institution. In recent years, the importance of implementing Caring Process in providing health services has been increasingly recognized. Caring Process, which consists of several stages such as Knowing, Being With, Doing For, Enabling, and Maintaining Belief, aims to build empathic and attentive relationships between medical personnel and patients. This study was conducted at the Grand Medistra Lubuk Pakam Hospital to uncover the relationship between Caring Process and Nurse's job satisfaction and patient satisfaction in the inpatient room.

Background

The Grand Medistra Lubuk Pakam Hospital is a leading healthcare institution in the region, providing quality healthcare services to patients. The hospital has a strong commitment to providing patient-centered care, which is reflected in its implementation of Caring Process. However, despite the hospital's efforts, there is still a need to understand the relationship between Caring Process and Nurse's job satisfaction and patient satisfaction.

Methodology

This study involved 89 nurses and 102 inpatients as samples, chosen through purposive sampling techniques by considering certain criteria. Data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Pearson Product Moment correlation test.

Results

The results showed that most of the Caring Process (84.3%) was in a good category. In addition, the majority of nurses (80.4%) were satisfied with their work, and 72.5% of patients were satisfied with the services they received.

Bivariate Analysis

Bivariate analysis with the Pearson Product Moment correlation test shows the value of R = 0.658 (P <0.05), which means there is a significant relationship between Caring Process and nurse job satisfaction. The strength of the relationship between Caring Process and Nurse's job satisfaction is in a very high category.

However, the results of the correlation test for patient satisfaction show the value of R = 0.088 (P> 0.05), which means there is no significant relationship between Caring Process and patient satisfaction.

Discussion

This finding shows that the application of a good Caring Process has a positive influence on the job satisfaction of nurses. Nurses who feel valued and involved in the process of caring, tend to feel more satisfied with their work.

However, the absence of a significant relationship between Caring Process and patient satisfaction requires further analysis. The possible causes are:
