Introduction

The use of injectable contraceptives, such as KB injections, has become a popular choice among family planning acceptors in Jagong Jeget District, Central Aceh Regency. Despite its effectiveness, many acceptors often experience anxiety due to the potential side effects that may arise after use. This study aims to explore the experiences of injectable family planning acceptors and understand how this method affects their lives.

Methodology

This study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Ten family planning acceptors who use KB injections were selected through purposive sampling technique. The participant criteria included those who live in Jagong Jeget District and actively use the injection contraceptive method.

Results

The results of this study revealed five main themes that became the experience of the injection KB acceptor. Understanding the Method is the first theme, where many acceptors get information about KB injections from various sources, both from health workers, media, and community. This shows the importance of good education to ensure that the acceptor understands the advantages and disadvantages of this method.

Support from Family and Community is the second theme, where support from the family is one of the very influential factors. Acceptors who get positive support from the family tend to be more confident in using injection family planning. Friendly Health Services is the third theme, where services from health workers are also an important aspect. Acceptors who feel good and friendly service from health workers feel more comfortable and calm during the process of using contraception.

However, behind it all, many acceptors experience Side Effects and Anxiety, which creates anxiety and doubts about the continuation of the use of this method. Common side effects reported include changes in the menstrual cycle, changes in weight, and discomfort. Finally, many acceptors choose to switch from KB injection three months to KB injection for one month, the possibility to be more monitor and reduce the perceived side effects.

Discussion

The results of this study highlight the importance of providing more equitable and comprehensive family planning services. In-Depth Education about the use and side effects of injections is very important to reduce the anxiety of acceptors. In addition, Support from Families and Community also needs to be strengthened so that the acceptor feels more supported in their decisions. With these steps, it is hoped that the experience of family planning acceptors can be improved and the problems they face can be overcome better.

Conclusion

This study provides valuable insights into the experiences of injectable family planning acceptors in Jagong Jeget District, Central Aceh Regency. The findings highlight the importance of education, support from family and community, and friendly health services in reducing anxiety and improving the experience of acceptors. By providing more comprehensive and equitable family planning services, it is hoped that the problems faced by acceptors can be overcome better.
