Introduction

Pematangsiantar City has experienced significant development in recent years, with many entrepreneurs facing various obstacles that hamper the progress of their business, especially in terms of capital, marketing, and information. This study aims to analyze the extent of the influence of Business Development Services (BDS) on the income of fading entrepreneurs, as well as comparing the conditions of entrepreneurs' income before and after the implementation of the BDS program.

Background

Economic development through medium business in Pematangsiantar is inseparable from the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. As an economic activity that has great potential, this sector is at risk of being hampered if problems such as lack of capital, improper marketing strategies, and limited access to information are not overcome. Therefore, the presence of BDS is expected to provide solutions to this problem.

This study uses a census approach with a quantitative descriptive design, involving 48 medium entrepreneurs in Pematangsiantar City as respondents. Data was collected through questionnaires and interviews to get accurate information about their business conditions. Data analysis was carried out using multiple regression methods to test the first hypothesis, as well as the T test to assess the difference in income before and after the BDS program.

Results and Discussion

The results showed that there were positive and significant influences of capital, marketing, and information variables on the income of the Military Entrepreneurs. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 80.2% shows that these variables are able to explain most of the changes in entrepreneur income. In other words, the better the management of capital, marketing, and access to information, the higher the income that can be generated by entrepreneurs.

The different test using T-test also shows that there are significant differences in the entrepreneur's income before and after participating in the BDS program. T-count value (5,052) which is higher than T-table (0.678) confirms that this program has succeeded in having a positive impact on increasing income.

The positive and significant influences of capital, marketing, and information variables on entrepreneur income indicate that the BDS program has been successful in providing support to entrepreneurs in overcoming the challenges they face.

Conclusion

Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Business Development Services (BDS) has a very important role in increasing the income of pending entrepreneurs in Pematangsiantar City. Capital, marketing, and information variables collectively contribute to significant increase in income. Therefore, the implementation of the BDS program should continue to be encouraged and expanded so that more entrepreneurs can feel the benefits. This effort will not only improve the welfare of entrepreneurs, but also contribute to the overall economic growth of the region.
