This situation is caused by several factors, including leadership that is too dominant in decision making, the lack of appreciation for employee achievements, relationships between colleagues who tend to show superiority, as well as the application of justice that is not evenly distributed. In this context, an increase in employee engagement is considered to be done in order to significantly improve employee performance.

Research has shown that engaged employees are more productive, have better job satisfaction, and are more likely to stay with their organization. Effect of Employee Engagement on Employee Performance

This study involved 78 employees using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was carried out with multiple linear regression through SPSS version 22.0. The results of the study showed that employee performance was influenced by four variables, namely leadership, achievement, Camaraderie, and Equity. With the coefficient of determination (R square) of 0.500, it means that 50% of employee performance is determined by these factors.

Equity (Justice): Justice in assessment and appreciation significantly affects employee performance. Inequality in promotional occasions based on subjectivity can result in demotivation. Based on the results of the study, there are several strategic steps that can be applied to improve employee engagement at the Palm Oil Research Center:
