Introduction

It is hoped that with this autonomy, local governments can be more independent in financial management and more efficient in utilizing its financial resources.

The data used in this study were obtained from the local government's financial reports and other relevant documents. The data were analyzed using the paired t-test statistical method to determine the significance of the difference in financial performance before and after regional autonomy.

Results

The results of the analysis showed a significant difference in local government financial performance before and after autonomy. Financial performance is measured through several indicators, including fiscal decentralization, fiscal efforts, and the level of financing capability. These three indicators indicate a significant difference.

However, interestingly, the level of efficiency of budget use does not show significant differences. This indicates that although local governments have the freedom in managing finances, efficiency in the use of the budget is still a challenge that needs to be overcome.

Discussion

The results of this study indicate that regional autonomy has a positive impact on local government financial performance. The significant difference in financial performance before and after autonomy suggests that local governments are able to manage their finances more effectively with the implementation of regional autonomy.

However, the lack of significant difference in the level of efficiency of budget use suggests that local governments still face challenges in managing their finances efficiently. This is a concern that needs to be addressed in order to achieve the objectives of regional autonomy.

Conclusion

Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that regional autonomy has a positive impact on local government financial performance, but there is still much that needs to be improved, especially in terms of the efficiency of the use of the budget. Local governments must continue to innovate and make improvements in financial management so that the objectives of regional autonomy can be achieved optimally.

Through a more strategic and effective approach, it is hoped that local governments can improve their financial performance and provide better services to the community.
