Introduction

This study aims to create a map of the distribution of sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-A, as well as determine the potential area of small pelagic fishing based on the distribution of SST and chlorophyll-A from 2016 to 2020.

Methodology

The analysis was carried out by utilizing Aqua Fashionable Satellite Image to obtain SST and Chlorophyll-A values. From the data obtained, the researcher conducted a CPUE calculation (catch per unit effort) to analyze the fluctuations of the catch that occurs. In addition, processing primary productivity data using the VGPM model and sea level current data obtained from the Aviso satellite imagery was also carried out. This aims to understand the relationship between SST distribution, chlorophyll-A, and ocean currents in determining small pelagic fish catching areas.
