However, the effectiveness of disaster management in the village is still a concern. This study aims to assess how disaster management is carried out in the village of the tongue and evaluating its effectiveness. The main focus is to evaluate the implementation of disaster management and identify the constraints faced by the BPBD Serdang Bedagai in the face of a tornado.

Methodology

Research Method and Approach

The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a purposive sampling approach for the taking of research subjects. Research informants consist of main informants and key informants who provide data through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation studies, and literature studies. The data collected was then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis model.

Results and Discussion

Effectiveness of Disaster Management in the Tongue Land Village

From the results of the study, it can be concluded that disaster management in terms of achievement of goals has shown effectiveness. However, in terms of timeliness, benefits, and achievement of results, there is still ineffectiveness. The main obstacle faced by BPBD Serdang Bedagai includes the lack of number of personnel, equipment and equipment that is inadequate, and the unavailability of ready-to-use funds. In addition, the relatively far disaster location is also a challenge in the process of overcoming.
