Each group of students is given three different types of stimulus: auditory, visual, and audiovisual. The results of the measurement of memory performance will be analyzed using the One-way anova statistical test, where the value of P ≤ 0.05 is considered significant.

The results of this study showed a significant difference in the total digit SPAN score between the three groups given different stimuli. The P value obtained is 0.003 (p ≤ 0.05) based on the One-way anova test. Furthermore, testing with the Bonferronon test shows that the group that receives an audiovisual stimulus obtained the best results, with P of 0.016 compared to the auditory group and P 0.005 compared to the visual group. These results suggest that the type of stimulus has a significant impact on short-term memory performance, with audiovisual stimulus resulting in the best performance.

From this study, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the type of information stimulus on short-term memory on students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra, class of 2016-2017. This shows that the use of various stimulus can be an effective strategy in improving short-term memory skills, especially in the context of learning in the world of education. With the application of teaching methods that utilize multisensory stimulus, students are expected to more easily absorb and remember the information provided.
