Introduction

The early detection of cervical cancer using acetic acid (IVA) is a crucial step in identifying cells that experience dysplasia. However, the low level of participation in the IVA test is one of the factors causing cancer development and inhibits early treatment efforts. In this context, this study aims to analyze the effect of health education through WhatsApp on knowledge of IVA tests among women of fertile age (WUS) in the village of Klambir Lima Kampung. The importance of health education in the prevention of cervical cancer cannot be overstated, and the use of modern technology such as WhatsApp can play a significant role in increasing awareness and knowledge about this crucial health issue.

Research Methods

This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest approach one group. The research sample consists of 61 individuals selected by the purposive sampling method. The instrument used in this study was a knowledge questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. The research design and methods used in this study were carefully selected to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the results.

The results of the analysis showed the P value of 0.000, which means smaller than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results after health education through WhatsApp about the IVA test in the WUS group in the Klambir Lima Village Village. With information that is easy, fast, and clear, as well as the support of interesting media forms, it is hoped that this effort can increase community participation in the IVA test, which ultimately contributes to early detection and better cervical cancer handling. This shows that the use of information technology in health education is a very strategic step to increase public awareness and knowledge about crucial health issues.
