This study employed a descriptive research design to determine the knowledge of preschool children about the importance of washing hands with soap in the IX environment, Batang Berh Village, Sidikalang District. A total of 30 preschool children were chosen using total sampling techniques. The data analysis was carried out using univariate analysis to determine the distribution of the frequency of knowledge about the importance of washing hands with soap.

The results of the study showed that 93.3% of respondents had good knowledge, 3.3% had sufficient knowledge, and the other 3.3% had less knowledge. The high percentage of preschool children with good knowledge about hand washing with soap indicates that the education and counseling efforts that have been previously implemented may have had a positive impact.
